Drats! Help!

I shake my fist at Christine, who gave me a Z for the names  meme. Help!!

I might do five posts about Zsadist - and will! - unless somebody can remind me of other Z's.  I don't even know Zorro!  Help!!

Who are heroes in books that you have read whose names begin with a Z?  Maybe I have read them, too.

But look at this cool image I found in the wikipedia commons.

  1. I know, but I never saw the movie!! I could talk about Antonio maybe, as I'd imagine him playing Zorro.

  2. Ziegfeld. An icon of American theatre!

  3. K clearly I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel. You should turn your Z over, pretend Dyslexia and say "S!" Thanks Christine!

  4. Oh, you are SO clever. I think actually it would be easier to do 4 or 5 posts on Zsadist. Or maybe Zsadist vs other heroes in a battle. Do I have to reread that book now? NOOOOOOO! More crack. Used crack!

  5. Zarek from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters...

Oh! And didn't Bertrice Small write one of her dandy books with a heroine names Zenobia?? As I recall all manner of bad things happen to her, but is she ever cowed?? Oh no, not this Small heroine!

  7. Thanks. But darn, I didn't read any of those books. I WANT to read Dark hunters, though.

  8. Wait, can you do it for books you haven't even read?

  9. Heh.

I got L and had to admit defeat and ask for another letter. I couldn't think of ONE chahracter. Not one.

I have T now...that's a bit better. Although K and J would have really good for me. *g*

Any characters called Zeke, perhaps? Zebediah...Zoltar!

  10. Have you read Patricia Briggs? What about Zee? He isn't a hero, but he is a damn cool character.

  11. Ok, I've got 3 for you. You may not have read the books, but what the heck... ;-)

    1. Zain in Unleashed by C. J. Barry (SciFi Romance)

    2. Zachary in Perfect by Judith McNaught (Contemporary Romance)

    3. Zain in The Dream Thief by Shana Abe (Fantasy Romance)

  12. Sayuri: Zoltar IS somebody, I think.

Shannon: Yes, I have read Briggs' Z! Good thinking!

Jace: Okay, you are really good at this! I haven't read those books, but wow, three Zs off the top of your head.

  13. LOL, I got W from Kristie and that was like 3 weeks ago ^_^;

I think you'll probably be able to find one or two heroes named Zach right?

  14. *gulp* I can't help you with any Z heroes (here we pronounce it zed - but that doesn't help really does it?) Would it help if I told you my fingernails were no longer blue? That I treated myself and went for a manicure on Friday after work and now have this really cool sparkly dark read colour?

  15. Nath: Hmmm. W. I can certainly think of one very scary character who goes by that name.

KJ: Sparkly? Sounds dazzling. No wonder you can't think of any Zs.

  16. She can't do Ziegfeld since he's not a fictional character! Zsadist, Zarek from SK Dark-Hunters and then find 3 books with Zach's in them! lol That crazy Christine! :)

  17. Sorry Zsadist is the only Z I can come up with too :)

  18. Zsadist and Zarek are the only two I can think of right now.

  19. I could only think of Ziggy, of the David Bowie variety. Not sure that counts, but he is totally cool!

  20. How about Zane Mackenzie from Mackenzie's Pleasure by Linda Howard?
    He's spongeworthy.

  21. Um -- Zebedee from the Magic Roundabout is about all I can come up with.

  22. LOL I was totally kidding about the Z, but I have to admit I'm psyched that you took the bait! =)

Zoe from Sesame Street!!!! I lurve her!

It can be ANY fictional character. I just chose to do heroes because J was easy.

Zee from Iron Kissed! Good one, Shannon! And I LOVED Zane from Abe's Dream Thief, Jace.

  23. Isn't Zoltar the baddie from Battle of the Planets? Or the guy from Dude, Where's my Car? LOL

Zsadist and Zarek are the ones I'd come up with straight away.

Hmmmmm. I think Zee was certainly heroic at the end of Cry Wolf when he changed into his true Fey form.

Zero from Near Death by Nancy Kilpatrick - though she's a heroine.

  24. Another heroine is Zoe Martinique from Wraith by Phaedra Weldon

  25. Zippy, from Rainbow!

  26. Zooey, from Salinger's Franny and Zooey.

And, of course, Zoolander and Zorak, from Space Ghost.

  27. These may have been mentioned in the comments (I was bad and didn't read them) but here are my choices for Z:

Zack Benedict from Judith McNaught's Perfect.

Zachary Bronson from Lisa Kleypas' Where Dreams begin

Zarek of Moesia from Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dance with the Devil.

Zsadist from J.R. Ward's Lover Awakened (I think this is his book, I forget)

Zack Todd from Nora Roberts' Dance Upon the Air.

I really like all of those heroes!
