Well, I just made plans to take the train to Milwaukee next weekend (the 6th) to celebrate my Mom's 70th birthday. It's my two younger sisters' birthdays next week, too, so it's sort of a joint celebration.
So what does my mom want to do? Go out to see the Sex in the City movie, because she's the hugest fan of that show ever (the HBO version, of course) and then go out for martinis after.
And it's likely the next morning that she'll try and get me to go to the club so she can beat me in racquetball. Well, maybe not beat me.
My mom's sexy and smart. She's also writing an exercise book, sort of inspirational for elderly people. It has such a fabulous catchy title, I'm not even going to say what it is.
And isn't this a fabulous photo of her? It's her at the fruit stand she worked at in Cleveland during college.

Happy Birthday to your sexy and modern mom! Woohoo! She sounds very cool and I think you're going to have such an awesome weekend.
Can you even get ONE pound of apples for $1 now?
Thanks, C! I'm looking forward to it. Yeah, I was looking at that price, too. Less than 15 cents a pound.
Awww go sex it up with your mom! :D
What a cool Mom! I mean, I love mine, but no way would she even know what sex is, much less watch a TV show with sex in the title. I'm adopted, you know. I don't know how my brothers and sisters showed up. I assume they just wandered in off the street or something. No way did my mom ever have sex.
Uh-uh, no way.
KB: we will!
LC: LOL - Never had sex? I suppose it's possible, actually. Did you read that new Ian McEwan, On Chesile Beach? That might be like your mom. I know I butchered that spelling.
Mom's socks are smokin hawt-ness. I love photos like this. Do you think 50 years from now, when I turn 70, my kids will dig up photos of me at a Grateful Dead concert and post them? That would sooo rock..or they could just hook people up to my blog..which is embarrassing.
I like your mom.My mom would like her too.
LB: I'd like you to dig up that picture right now!
I had a scary thought from what you wrote - it's possible all our blogs may live longer than all of us. Your great great grandchildren may be linking to your blog.
Aren't the socks great?
oops. forgot to click that little thing for comments.
Well then you just missed my response. Nice GOING.
I had socks like that in girlscouts and they had those little flaggie things..omg...they were like garters for knee socks. Ew.
Happy Birthday CJ's Momma! Sounds like she's a pistol.
Must be where you get it from.
Happy Birthday MOM!! That's so cool CJ! Your Mom sounds like a lot of fun. Yeah, those socks and loafers were all the rage and look how great she looks. You'll have to take pics to post of her from your Sex adventure!
Aww! I hope you, your mom and your sisters have a blast on their sexy, sassy weekend celebration! Happy Birthday to them all!

Oh, thanks for all the birthday wishes for my mom, you guys! Yeah, I love the socks, and I was sort of thinking they are back in style, sort of. I'm really looking forward to next weekend and our crazy little celebration!
Hey hope your mom had a wonderful b-day! Was the movie good?
That's a great pics of mom!
SARAI~ how are you????
Wow, and here I thought my mom was cool. Now, if you tell me that your mom like Sue Johanson (the sex grandma on the Oxygen channel) then I think she needs to title of Sexiest Mom Ever!
LB: Tired, sore, physically and emotionally drained but hanging on by a thread!
How bout you?
That's so cool! Happy Birthday to your mom. :P
