Two exciting-to-me things

This morning I woke up and looked out the window and everything was covered with a sparkling sheen of white. The first snow! It's actually not the first snow that fell, but it's the first snow that stayed. That's always sort of an exciting and magical thing to me.

I mean, yeah, by February the novelty has worn off, but the first one I love. I also love the first really fat flake snow where it really clumps to things. This was more of a powder dusting.

Okay, the other new exciting-to-me thing:

Hell YEAH! A serious new Star Trek movie is great news by itself - the last few I saw were sort of phoned in if you ask me - but this one looks  hot and sexy, and psychologically meaty. I am SO there!

Snow here too. Great fun to see our kitty experience it for the first time!

And I share your excitement for Star Trek. I hope it's good.

Oh, I love the snow! I miss sledding and ice skating on lakes. I spent many holidays doing just that in MN.

They were talking about this the other day on the entertainment news, and I have to say I was impressed too! Pretty good cast too!

No snow here yet, but it's still really early. I'm really excited to see the new Star Trek movie. Twilight is on the schedule for this weekend...I hope.

We've had snow for a few weeks now. I'm over it already *sigh*
As for the movie - it looks real good, but the trouble I have with prequels is you know in advance how they will turn out.

I love the 1st snow of the year too. But I hate driving in it :) I think I'll wait till a little closer to Christmas before I start getting antsy on when are we going to get some. LOL!

I'm so jealous!! You get snow! Yeah, it doesn't exactly get cold enough to snow in the sunshine state.

We don't get snow at all either Katie. There are some parts of Australia that do, and they got some over the weekend! One week before summer and they got snow!

Lol, it's by February that we might actually get snow- and ice...

I've never seen any of the Star Trek shows or movies but this trailer looks kind of neat.

I *love* me some JJ Abrams! I hope it will be wonderful.

Don'tcha love first snow? Me too! And then it gets all dirty, and they don't close the Federal Government, so I still have to commute in to work with a bunch of Washingtonians who think because they own an SUV, they can still drive 50 mph on the road.

And then I'm done with snow.

I cannot wait to see Star Trek. It looks wicked and the background scenes, soooo cool. ;p

This looks very cool. I was hoping to see it during the half hour of previews that preceded Quantum of Solace and congratulations on a year of blogging! For all its pitfalls, blogging has connected me to people and given me an impetus and forum to write essays and clarify my thoughts. Was it Saul Bellow who said, "How do I know what I think until I see what i write?"
