OMG!!! I won...and please come enter my 'OMG I'm so excited I won' contest

Okay, I had to go to bed last night because I was obsessing about the DABWAHA so much I wasn't getting my work done and I was in danger of blowing a deadline! When the tally drew close I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
I got up early to finish my job...

And wow, I won!  I still can't believe I won. Anyway, I am just so grateful to everybody who voted for Iron Kissed, whether because you love Mercy Thompson as much as I do, or if you were thinking of Christine and me!

And also for everybody who voted for Spymaster's Lady, too, because that is such a fine book and people were rightly passionate about it. Heck, I'm passionate about it!

And I'm especially grateful to Dear Author and Smart Bitches for running this fun contest.

New contest! Comment to enter!
Okay, one of the cool things about DABWAHA is that I got introduced to a lot of books people really love...like this Maya Banks book, Be With Me, that almost beat Spymaster! I was like, what? This has GOT to go into my TBR. As well as Price of Desire, Sharing Knife and some others.

There are also some hidden gems that didn't make it out of the gate that deserve to be read and treasured.

Do you have your eye on any books that were in this contest? Comment with the title of any book you covet from DABWAHA before 11:59 on Monday, April 13. I'll randomly select three people and send them that book!! If you can't think of a book now, leave a comment and you're entered.  (Read about the books here.)

And yet ANOTHER contest!
Also, stop by on April 9th, because Ann Aguirre (whose triumphant release of BLUE DIABLO is today!) will be here for a chat with Miss Doreen... and there will be yet another contest!!

YAY!! Congrats, Carolyn!

Thanks Barbara! Hey, aren't you entering my contest? You must enter!

So glad you won! Whew. The last time I checked it was neck and neck (one vote difference) and I thought I'd totally screwed you!

That was a nailbiter.

I've got my eye on pretty much everything I haven't read in the contemporary, historical, and erotic categories. I'm even wanting a few of those YA and m/m, which I normally don't read.

My deadline is so crazy right now. I can't WAIT to go on a wild reading spree.

WTG CJ!!!

The voting was very close when I checked last, with TSL ahead. Am so glad IK won!

I want to read Banks' Be With Me. Hadn't heard of it until DABWAHA, and it knocked out my favorite (Collision Course), so I must find a copy.

Kwana said...

Big congrats to you. I so have to read Iron Kissed and Spymasters Lady. I'll admit to voting for Iron Kissed my friend. What did I have to lose. The book looked cool and interesting and I was way out of the contest already! I'm so glad you won. Enjoy your success. This was such a fun contest.

congrats carolyn!

I'm SO thrilled for you and Christine! Awesome news. You lucky, lucky duck!

I hope you end up liking the Maya Banks. I really enjoyed it (I reviewed it not too long ago). She's turned into an autobuy for me. I believe I'll be picking up Show and Tell by Jasmine Hayes from the ERom and Rough, Raw and Ready by Lorelie James from GBLT. Both look like winners to me!

KMont said...

This is a seriously cool contest. Thanks for the generosity! And big congrats on winning!

I'd love to get Sharing Knife: Passage by Bujold. It's give me a good excuse to get the previous two and get moving on the series. ;)

yay for ceeee jaaaay. :)

YEAH!!! WTG CJ!!! Thanks for letting me live vicariuosly through you. :)

And what a cool contest. Could be my chance to try some M/M.

You WON!!!! Congrats, CJ, that's all kind of awesome!

I have read quite a bit of the books, and others are in the scary, ever spreading TBR mountain range, so please don't enter me in the giveaway.

Wendy said...

Wow, congrats CJ!

KT Grant said...

Can I have your autograph?

Jill D. said...

Hey CJ, you lucky girl you!!! If I had to lose to somebody, I am glad it was you :)

The contest was a ton of fun and it is a great way to get book recomendations especially on categories you don't normally read. I, too, was super surprised at how close some of the votes were. There are some very passionate fans out there.

I was fortunate to have read quite a few of the books in the tourny. If I can only choose one book, I would have to go with The Hunger Games. I heard great things about it, but never got a chance to read it.

Carolyn Crane said...

Jill: Thanks! Yeah, there were so many good looking books here.

JMC: BWM sounds fabulous.

Kwana: I can't believe you haven't read either! If you win my contest, you should pick one of them!!

Serena: Thanks!

Kati: ooh, cool picks.

KMont: Got it. It does sound like a series you start at the beginning with.

LBG: thanks!!!

Leslie: Thanks, and all these books were highly thought of, so I bet you can't go wrong.

AZ: Well thanks.

Wendy: Thanks. You should win this contest since it's sort of your namesake.

KB: YOU! We will trade.

Jill D: You were right up there!

Renee said...

Woot!

I will definitely have to read The Spymaster's Lady, now. IK is my favorite Briggs (and you know what I squeeing fangirl I am about her!)

Alas, my pick Blue-Eyed Devil did not make it to the finals, and in the end (esp since I was down in the rankings) I voted the CJ slate. :-)

Graceling (YA) looks good, and I relized how lacking in the historicals I've been, since I haven't read any of the nominiees!

Your kitties must be so proud.

limecello said...

Congratulations, Carolyn! :D Very exciting!!!
And wow - contest! I have to say I've had my eye on Tempted by Megan Hart for a long time...

Carolyn Crane said...

Renee: You have to read SML. And I think the kitties are relieved, frankly.

LimeC: Gasp. That is an EXCELLENT choice!!!

Unknown said...

I've been eyeing the spymaster's lady for quite a while, but haven't gotten it yet. I think this means I should read it.

Congrats! I voted for you!

Katie Reus said...

Congrats Carolyn, I'm so glad you won!! :)

Jennifer Y. said...

No need to enter me, but congrats!!!! You were a worthy competitor. :o)

Christine said...

Congratulations, Carolyn!!! Wow. That's so awesome! And a very generous contest, too! I plan on reading Be With Me by Maya Banks, as well. The vote between it and The Spymaster's Lady in the previous round was also extremely close.

It is equally awesome that Jennifer is winning a Sony Reader as well!! --Congrats Jennifer!!!! You had an outstanding bracket. It was so impressive how you reigned the first place spot for most of the tournament.

Christine said...

BUT DON'T ENTER ME IN YOUR GIVEAWAY.. sheeesh! Because 'OMG I'm so excited I won', too! ;o)

Sayuri said...

Awww Congrats CJ! How awesome is that.. Now you have the reader I'll be able email you all kinds of book you MUST read! LOL

I was really surpised I had read a huge amount of the book in the contest. About the only ones I haven't were Wicked Burn and Collison Course. both of which I need to get. LOL

orannia said...

CJ, Christine and Iron Kissed won! YAH! Thre big ticks in my book! So, congrats CJ, Christine and Patricia Briggs!

Be With Me is a fantastic book. I love how Maya Banks takes the reader through the inner workings of each character's decision regarding the relationship!

And that's a very generous contest - thank you CJ!. However, I reside outside of North America, so I'll count myself out (as postage is a killer).

Blodeuedd said...

Congrats :D
I did horrible in that contest, somewhere in the 500.

So is this a worldwide contest?
If so then sign me up, and I am sure curious about Grimspace by Ann Aguirre

Carolyn Crane said...

JC: You won't be disappointed.

Katie: thanks!

JenY: Back at you.

Christine: Congrats to you, too!!

Sayuri: Well, you'll have to recommend some to me, though I already have lots on my list to buy from your site, and now a GC!!

Orianna: Surely you have Amazon there, right? I've had winners in England before. Why not NZ? You are IN.

Blodeuedd: You are in, too. Grimspace would be an excellent choice.

Joanna Chambers said...

Congratulations! I didn't think you'd win, when I voted IK was way behind!

Ann Aguirre said...

Yay, CJ!

Mariee said...

Yay, congrats on winning!

I'd love to win a copy of Mine to Possess by Nalini Singh.

orannia said...

Thank you CJ :) Ummm..no Amazon in NZ (unfortunately), but we do have GoodBooksNZ (which has free postage ANYWHERE!).

Alright...a book... *thinking*

orannia said...

*thinking process complete*

I've decided to go for Uneven by Anah Crow :) The DA review just blew me away!

Thank you so much CJ!

sula said...

woot! I've been off in my own little mba/work/weddingplanning/hectic world and totally not paying attention but I did remember to vote for you. Glad that you won. :)

Brie said...

I'm so out of the loop. I didn't even know that DABWAHA was going on until yesterday! Anywho, congratulations on your win, CJ!

Tracy said...

How about Your Scandalous Ways by Loretta Chase for the win, Bob.

Kristie (J) said...

*squealing and jumping up and down*

Way to go CJ!!! A hearty high five on winning!!
And since you are giving away prizes *g* I have a remarkable number of the books in the tournament, but one I don't have that caught my eye was Undercover by Lauren Dane. I just ordered four of her books but Undercover wasn't one of them. And it's a Futuristic and I love them. Of course the fact that it's an erotic romance has nothing to do with things. Nope, not a thing. Nada. Zip. Nothing. Zilch.

Jace said...

Not entering the contest. Just wanted to say CONGRATS!!! I'm so pleased that you and Christine won. :D Now your fur-babies can quit that woebegone look. :)

Carolyn Crane said...

T: Thanks. I totally thought I had lost all day!

Ann: Thanks!

Marie: Great, you're in for MTP.

Oriannia: Great.

Sula: Welcome back from Africa!

Brie: thanks!

T: Scandalous ahoy for you.

KJ: thanks!! Undercover sounds great.

Jace: I know you live in Maylaysia, but this is a global contest. You are IN!!

This contest has totally opened me up to so many new books and authors! I'm really super duper excited about reading Undercover by Lauren Dane.

Kytaira said...

I want to read Maya Banks Be With Me. I've read some of her books and loved them. In a very close second would be Lauren Dane's Undercover. I recently read Taking Care of Business by her (and Megan Hart) and loved it. Then again - Wicked Burn is calling me as well!

Bridget Locke said...

Congrats, CJ! I voted just for you! :) Esp. since my book didn't make it. *sniffle*

Congratulations to you CJ! You did good!

There are plenty of books on the list that I have my eye on but if I have to pick one, I am going to go with Iron Kissed because it must be all kinds of awesome to have won the whole tournament.

Congrats!!! You did good :D
As for a book, well I haven't read The Spymaster's Lady, so I definitely think I would go with that! :D

Congrats. I voted for IK for entirely selfish reasons. Going into the final I was 78 and didn't have either finalist. I would have fallen father if SML had won. lol I would like to read Broken Wing.

Great contest...I would like to win Unlawful Contact by Pamela Clare. Thanks!

Raonaid Luckwell said...

Congrats hun! Briggs would have had my vote no matter what... unless she went against Maya and then two friends would have bumped me ontop the head for her.

Never heard of Bourne before... so Briggs got my vote hands down.

Blue-Eyed Devil - Kleypas
Be With Me by Maya Banks,
Kushiel's Mercy

Wendy said...

Congrats CJ!! It's fantastic that you won! :-DD And thanks for sharing the joy by holding this contest! If I had to pick one book, eliminating all those that are sequels to books I also haven't read, I thinki the one I most want to read is Lanyon and Baumbach's Mexican Heat :-D.

Yea!! Congrats to you. Iron Kissed was my pick for this year too but I didn't do near so well. I think I covet either GRACELING or GRIMSPACE.
Thanks!
